Pumpkin decorating

Carving pumpkins in Tucson is kind of dicey since it is so dry - the carved pumpkins tend to turn into hockey pucks over night.  Grandma Pauline gave Abby a pumpkin decorating kit to try instead, so we went to get a pumpkin this morning.  Abby had a great time pushing in the pieces.  Of course she chose the dog...

A new fun game for Abby is putting away trash. Very useful for mommy and daddy!

Abby's response to the pool has been a bit variable.  She likes going into the water, but would prefer sitting on the steps to practicing her kicks.  Abby's favorite part of swimming lessons was always the small kids slide that they let the kids slide down into the pool at the end of lessons.  So we decided we should get one to encourage her.  I think it worked:

She did this over and over, at least 10 times in a row, until she started shivering and we had to make her go in the house to change..

New and improved swinging

Abby got tired of being strapped into the baby swing, so we turned it into a toddler swing today, and lowered it so she can get in herself.  It was a big hit!

Abby isn't always so patient with being read to, but she likes to look through books.  Lately she has started "reading" the books to herself. No idea what she is saying, but it sounds like she is having a good time.
