trip to Mesa

We also made the trip to Mesa, AZ to visit Jeanette and Garth, Erika's snowbird aunt and uncle. They took us all to the swap meet up there, which had crazy amounts of stuff that you might need, or didn't know you needed. :)

Sabino Canyon

Pauline visited recently and we took the opportunity to do a little sight-seeing around Tucson. This picture is from Sabino Canyon, which is about half a mile from our house. Real creeks in the desert!
Although there are lots of Saguaro's too, obviously.

March Madness

Anyone interested in joining an NCAA bracket? Some of us have been doing it for fun online for the last couple of years. If you are interested, email me.

New dining room furniture

We also had our new dining room furniture delivered this week. The table expands to seat 8-10, so plenty of room for guests.

First Harvest

We recently joined the Tucson Community Supported Agriculture group - which means that for 3 months we have a share each week of what is freshest from a local farmer. It's kind of like going to a Farmer's market except you get one of everthing. We thought it would be a fun way to see what kinds of things grow around here, and to eat some fresh vegetables. This week's harvest: Beauregard Sweet Potatoes, Braising Greens Mix, Cilantro, Oranges, Hector Spinach, Hon Tsai Tai, Mokum Carrots, Purple Turnips. It'll be fun to see what to do with all these things - last night we made a slaw of turnip and grapefruit - very tasty.
