First Harvest

We recently joined the Tucson Community Supported Agriculture group - which means that for 3 months we have a share each week of what is freshest from a local farmer. It's kind of like going to a Farmer's market except you get one of everthing. We thought it would be a fun way to see what kinds of things grow around here, and to eat some fresh vegetables. This week's harvest: Beauregard Sweet Potatoes, Braising Greens Mix, Cilantro, Oranges, Hector Spinach, Hon Tsai Tai, Mokum Carrots, Purple Turnips. It'll be fun to see what to do with all these things - last night we made a slaw of turnip and grapefruit - very tasty.
